U.S. Soccer did a five-part scarf series throughout the Final Round of FIFA 2014 World Cup Qualifying. At each home World Cup Qualifier, all fans in attendance received a free, special edition game-specific scarf to wear with pride during the game. Each scarf includes specific lyrics from the Star-Spangled Banner. (x)

A ticket to the World Cup, in Columbus
The United States defeated Mexico on Tuesday night. It was the fourth consecutive 2-0 win for the Americans against their continental rivals in Columbus, supplying an almost eerie sense of invulnerability at home. The scoreline was familiar as the support, and in truth the setting tells as much of a story as the actual match. From The American Outlaws to Sam’s Army, the distinctly pro-US crowd was in full force, reinforcing that “Soccer has made it in America” phrase you’ve been hearing since 1994. Well, until 2017, Dos a Cero lives on. [All featured photos were taken by “Dakota Sillyman”. You can find more of his work here.]
